You are always welcome here.

Milna has existed for over four hundred years, and the stone houses and the Baroque church of the famous master Ignjac Macanović attest to the town's rich past and history. Maritime culture is woven into the way of life of its inhabitants; living by the sea, they have learned to live from the sea. The municipality, in addition to Milna as the largest settlement and administrative center, also includes the settlements of Ložišća, Bobovišća, Bobovišća na Moru and Pothume.

Meet Milna

In a narrow, deep bay, Milna awaits you with wide open arms, a peaceful Mediterranean port and the beginning of your Brač adventure.

The municipality of Milna is changing, both now and in the future. Learn more about development plans.

It is difficult to get to know Milna through pictures and words. You have to see it, come, be in it and with it.

Milna and sailors need each other. Milna is a safe haven, and sailors make Milna a world in miniature.

Frane Lozić shares his vision for the development of Milna not only with his voters, but also with the vast majority of residents of the westernmost municipality of Brač.

Most places along the coast are vitally connected to the sea. Milna a little more. Rich tradition and culture prove it.

Transport connections
and infrastructure

On the island, road and sea traffic are connected into a single transport system. The island of Brač itself can be reached very easily using sea, road or air transport.

Connections with other islands and the mainland

During the season, the ferry from the port in Split connects the islands of Šolta, Vis, Brač (Supetar and Milna), Hvar, Korčula and Lastovo, while the catamaran operates daily, in both directions, between Split, Brač, Makarska, Korčula, Mljet and Dubrovnik.

Connections with other places on the island of Brač

All places on the island of Brač are well connected by state, county or local roads. There are also a large number of maintained unclassified roads on the island that serve as bypasses or agricultural roads. The ferry port of Supetar is about 20 km from Milna, and a bus runs daily on the Milna-Supetar route. The timetable is coordinated with the arrivals and departures of the ferry.
In addition to buses, the island also has a well-organized taxi service.

Bobovišća

You can only experience Bobovišće if you climb up to Stari Bobovišće, a settlement of harmonious stone architecture. You will notice the church of St. George from the 17th century, completed just over a hundred years ago. The paintings by an unknown Venetian master will reveal to you the region to which Brač historically belongs.

Bobovišća by the sea

A deep bay on the west coast of Brač hides the centuries-old seaside town of Bobovišća.
Boaters will choose between Vičja Luka and Bobovišće, two ports located in two arms of the bay.
Both will offer peace, beauty and comfort, but the old, stone houses of Bobovišće leave few people indifferent. In most parts of the place, it is as if time has stood still. The centuries-old house of the Gligo family and the old oil mills still breathe today as they did in ancient times, inviting you to experience irretrievably lost times.

Fireboxes

Ložišća would be irresistible even if it weren't for Rendić's campanile. The narrow, steep, stone-paved streets teach us how everything was once tailored to the needs of man. A place for the soul, we would say today. And then there's the campanile! It stands proudly, but the pride is not only in its beauty, but also in the courage of the people of Ložišća to take on debt in order to have a bell tower of bell towers, by a Venetian student, the architect Rendić!

Underground

If long ago, when the Mediterranean was still untouched, they yearned for something even older and more authentic, they were surely thinking of Podhume, an untouched village, once abandoned, on the western part of Brač, on the Huma hill. To walk and experience the old ovens, cellars, wells and gardens, and then sit down for a glass of wine with a hospitable host, is to be in the very heart of the time when the Mediterranean gained fame.

Milna has finally opened the doors to its hidden maritime history

Almost everyone knows today that Milna on the island of Brač is located in a deep bay, very well protected from the influence of winds. This is what has made it attractive for many nautical and other activities for centuries. Its very location, on the western side of the island, in a relatively narrow channel, a passage, between the islands of Šolta and Brač, also had a strategic importance, which was used during the
