The Municipality of Milna is the administrative center of the settlements of Milna, Ložišća, Bobovišća and Pothume, and the seat of the Municipality is located in the largest settlement – Milna. Milna is the fifth largest municipality (out of seven) on the island of Brač; it is located in the extreme southwestern part of the island. It covers 36.43 km2 of land area, which is 9.18 % of the total area of the island of Brač. According to the 2011 census, the Municipality had 1,074 inhabitants in three settlements (Milna, Ložišća and Bobovišća). The settlements of Milna and Bobovišće na Moru are coastal, oriented towards the Split Strait. Bobovišća and Ložišća are located in the northern part of the Municipality, deeper inland on the island. They are well connected to the rest of the island of Brač by the state road D-114 and the county road Ž-6188. Podhume, the deepest inland, in the eastern part of the Municipality, is today without permanent residents and isolated from traffic.
The kindergarten in Milna began operating in 1961. Children who have reached the age of three are enrolled in the kindergarten to participate in the preschool educational program.
The people of Milna have always invested in education, and sometimes even today. The first school in Milna officially began operating in 1848.
The primary school in Milna has the status of an independent primary school, and children from other settlements that gravitate towards Milna also attend this school. In 1977, the school building was renovated and modernly equipped, so that children learn in almost ideal conditions.
DVD Milna was founded with the task of protecting against fires and explosions through preventive measures, participating in fire extinguishing and rescuing people and property threatened by fires and explosions, providing technical assistance in accidents and dangerous situations, and assisting in accidents, ecological and natural disasters.
The Meštralun doo public utility company is fully owned by the Municipality of Milna. It performs public utility activities of local importance, such as maintaining cleanliness, public areas, unclassified roads, retail markets, cemeteries, public lighting, beaches, public parking lots, parking fees, performing minor construction works, port activities and other activities in accordance with the founding documents (Official Gazette 07/12).

You can only experience Bobovišće if you climb up to Stari Bobvišće, a settlement of harmonious stone architecture. You will notice the church of St. George from the 17th century, completed just over a hundred years ago. The paintings by an unknown Venetian master will reveal to you the region to which Brač historically belongs.

A deep bay on the west coast of Brač hides the centuries-old seaside town of Bobovišća. Boaters will have a choice between Vičja luka and Bobovišća, two ports located in two arms of the bay. Both offer peace, beauty and comfort, but the old stone houses of Bobovišća leave few people indifferent. In most parts of the place, it is as if time has stood still. Ložišća would be irresistible even if it weren't for Rendić's campanile. The narrow, steep, stone-paved streets teach us how everything was once tailored to the needs of man. A place for the soul, we would say today. And then there's the campanile! It stands proudly, but the pride is not only in its beauty, but also in the courage of the people of Ložišća to take on debt in order to have a bell tower of bell towers, by a Venetian student, the architect Rendić!
