In accordance with the legal framework, in the reporting period, executive tasks from the self-governing scope of the Municipality were performed, and in this regard, general acts adopted by the Municipal Council were proposed, opinions were given on proposed decisions and other acts, care was taken over the execution of general and other acts of the Municipal Council, real estate and movable property owned by the Municipality, as well as its income and expenses, were managed. In accordance with its own program orientation, the activities of the Unified Administrative Department of the Municipality were directed and its work was supervised in this regard, and other tasks were also performed in accordance with the law, the Statute of the Municipality and other general acts.
In order to implement all tasks, a series of working meetings, consultations and working agreements were held, through which an active approach was used to maximally influence the direction of all activities. In the introductory part of this report, I would first of all like to emphasize the importance of cooperation between the mayor and councilors of the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Milna with the common goal of continuous and progressive progress of our Municipality in all areas, all for the benefit, first of all, of all our citizens who live here and those who will live here tomorrow, but also of all those who visit our settlements, who invest in the development of our municipality and, together with us, contribute to making it an attractive and desirable destination.
In this sense, I would like to thank all the councilors from the previous term for their cooperation, and I am especially looking forward to future cooperation with the new councilors in this mandate period of the Municipal Council. Unity, understanding, compromises, cooperation, one peace when we talk about managing our municipality are certainly attributes that many can now envy us for, but also learn from us. This is an invaluable value and one of the essential prerequisites for the successes we are witnessing. And this is exactly what our citizens, those who elected us, rightly expect from us.
The result of the synergy of our joint work is now best shown in the many projects we are implementing from EU funds and in which our municipality is now involved like never before, but also in the withdrawal of funds from the county and state budgets, or public institutions (Hrvatske vode) both directly and through utility companies of which we are co-owners or owners. All this supports what I have always said, if the prerequisites (projects, permits, etc.) are efficiently and tirelessly completed at the local level and then such projects are applied at the regional and national level through persistent work, discussions, lobbying or in open financing measures from the cohesion (now recovery and resilience funds), then success is guaranteed regardless of the current vertical of government.
