Interpretation Center of Maritime History Milna
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE OPERATION:
The project reconstructs the existing and builds auxiliary facilities 1 and 2, to accommodate and put into operation the Interpretation Center of the Fishing and Maritime History of Milna, which reveals the long and rich fishing tradition of this part of the island of Brač, but also of the island as a whole. Its permanent exhibition, with the active participation of the local community, will be a space for the preservation and presentation of the memory and identity of the local community, based on its fishing and maritime heritage.
OPERATION OBJECTIVES:
General goal: to create a space for research and interpretative, interdisciplinary and multimedia presentation of the fishing and maritime heritage of Milna, as well as cooperation, networking and transfer of knowledge and skills about it.
SC1: Create new tourist, cultural and social infrastructure in the municipality of Milna based on local specificities;
SC2: Research, valorize and present the fishing and maritime heritage of the Milna municipality.
EXPECTED RESULTS
Upon completion of the project, we expect the existence of a fully equipped and functional interpretation center for the fishing and maritime history of Milna, but also for a certain part of the heritage of the island of Brač, given that the development of one part of the island does not take place in complete isolation from the rest of the island. The project will also result in the existence of a multifunctional space for future education, transfer of knowledge and skills, information and promotion of the fishing heritage of this area. The sustainability of the results of this project will also be influenced by the increase in tourist demand for this type of product, which represents an innovation in the area of the Brač FLAG, and as a result of the promotion and involvement in the promotional activities of the local tourist board and other tourism stakeholders. The project will result in the creation of 1 permanent job (center manager) and 1 seasonal job.

EU funding contribution (85%): 3,218,100.00 HRK
Contribution of the Republic of Croatia (15%): 567,900.00 HRK
